College Board Opportunity Scholarships

What is the College Board Opportunity Scholarship progam?

The College Board Opportunity Scholarship program guides you through the college planning process and gives you the chance to earn money for college along the way.

This program is open to all students, regardless of citizenship status, and it isn’t based on GPA or test scores—the program rewards you for the work you’re already doing to apply to college. Half of all scholarships will be awarded to students whose families earn less than $60,000 per year.

Who can qualify for an Opportunity Scholarship?

Starting in December 2019, class of 2021 students attending high school in the United States, Puerto Rico, and other U.S. territories will be eligible to participate in the program and start earning money for college. For the class of 2021, U.S. citizens and residents attending Department of Defense Education Activity schools abroad can also take part.

Class of 2020 students are still eligible to sign up for the Opportunity Scholarship program and participate in the Complete the FAFSA® scholarship and Apply to Colleges scholarship until February 2020.
