College Planning

Scholarships for High School Juniors

During your junior year of high school, you have many responsibilities when it comes to planning for college. A good resource to check out is our Planning for College in 11th Grade guide that walks you through key steps to take and when. It’s never too late to get started!

A common misconception that some students have is thinking that scholarships are only awarded in their senior year of high school or during college. In this post, we’ll show you a few different scholarships awarded to high school juniors and where you can look for other scholarship opportunities. On BigFuture, you can find tools and information to help you plan and pay for college.

BigFuture Scholarships

BigFuture Scholarships are monthly awards that reward sophomores, juniors and seniors for taking steps to plan for their future. For each step taken on BigFuture, students are automatically entered into the monthly drawings for $500 and $40,000 scholarships. Every month, two or more students will win a $40,000 scholarship. Hundreds will win the $500 scholarships.

Students in the class of 2024 and 2025 will have a chance to earn scholarships by completing college planning steps like building a college list, starting a career list completing the FAFSA, applying to college and more!
